WASHINGTON — Disgraced ex-Rep. Tony Gonzales tried to cheat on his wife with a years-older campaign worker while he was running for Congress, only to be firmly rejected, according to newly published messages.

The San Antonio Express-News initally revealed last week that Gonzales (R-Texas), now 45, pleaded with his 2020 political director for for sex and nude photos years before his tryst with another staffer who died in September 2025 after setting herself on fire.

The political director, now in her 60s and wishing to remain anonymous, shared some of the cringe-worthy texts with the Daily Mail — including missives in which he asked her to “squeeze my balls,” inquired “What kind of panties do you wear?” and warned “I know what I want and won’t stop until I get it.”

In a July 20, 2020, message, which has not been independently verified by The Post, Gonzales asked his subordinate: “Help me fantasize about c–ing inside you.”

“I have never sent pictures to anyone,” the woman responded firmly to the future lawmaker.

Undeterred, Gonzales kept groveling, promising to delete any images he received.

“You’re beautiful,” he added, following that up with “I want to spread your legs.”

“I’m retired from the Army, and I’m used to the bad boys’ behavior,” the former staffer told the Mail. “I’ve had to deal with it, unfortunately my whole career, and this has got to stop. I’m 60.”

“Tony never bothered me as far as, like, I didn’t take him that serious, and I know how to say, ‘No.’”

Gonzales’ wife, Angel, gave birth to a little girl during her husband’s horndogging. The couple have six children.

The Republican resigned effective Tuesday after weeks of fallout from the revelations about his affair with Regina Santos-Aviles. Gonzales was staring down the threat of expulsion when he decided to step down alongside Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.)

“There is a season for everything and God has a plan for us all,” Gonzales posted on social media Monday. “It has been my privilege to serve the great people of Texas.”

Last month, the congressman ended his re-election bid ahead of a scheduled May 26 runoff in the 23rd Congressional District against fellow Republican Brandon Herrera.

Disturbing leaked messages showed Gonzales pressing Santos-Aviles for “sexy pics” and discussing his sexual fantasies. Gonzales later copped to the affair, calling it a “mistake” and “a lapse in judgment.”

GOP lawmakers in Congress had been torn over whether to push him out, given the party’s ultra-slim margins in the lower chamber.

But last week’s report by the Express-News rekindled the controversy.

The staffer told the outlet that she didn’t take Gonzales’ advances seriously “until this poor girl died [then] I thought, ‘No, this guy is pure evil.’”

“I’m not totally innocent in all this,” she reflected to the Express-News, adding that she had “played” him.

The woman later volunteered for Herrera’s 2024 House campaign and has described herself as being more conservative than Gonzales.

The former lawmaker did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
