Wedding in weeks: She works two jobs and still needs $75,000

Faige Gabbai’s wedding is approaching in just weeks – and she has $0 saved for even the most basic necessities. No apartment secured, no refrigerator, no oven, not even a bed for her future home.

One of her younger siblings is seriously ill, requiring constant hospital visits and treatments. Her parents spend their days rushing between work and hospitals, struggling with mounting medical bills that have swallowed every spare shekel and every ounce of their energy.

Faige works an entry-level job during the day and babysits every evening, doing everything possible to support herself. Still, her combined earnings barely cover daily expenses. Preparing for even the most modest wedding? Completely beyond reach.

Her parents desperately want to help. They love their daughter deeply and want her to have a joyful wedding and a stable beginning. But there is simply nothing left to give. Their lives are consumed by medical appointments, by survival, by the crushing responsibility of keeping one child alive.

« I know how much they wish they could help me », Faige shares. « That makes it harder, not easier. »

What should be a time of joy has become a countdown filled with quiet fear. With her wedding just weeks away, nothing is prepared. No modest apartment. No basic household items. Not even a plan for how the young couple will start their life together.

Asking her parents for help is impossible. Not because they wouldn’t want to – but because they literally cannot. Every spare moment goes toward keeping one child alive. There is no time, no money, no energy left for wedding preparations.

And so Faige turns to the Jewish community with humility and pain, asking for help to do something fundamental: get married with dignity and begin building a bayit ne’eman b’Yisrael without drowning in debt from day one.

>> Stand in the place her parents wish they could – help Faige reach her goal of $75,000 before her wedding

The wedding is approaching fast. Faige either reaches her chuppah with hope and the ability to start married life properly – or she begins with nothing. The window to help is painfully short.
