Antoine Semenyo: Man City complete transfer deal with Bournemouth – reports

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has reportedly completed a £64 million transfer to Manchester City on a five-and-a-half year deal.

An official announcement confirming the Ghana international’s move will be made on Friday, according to Sky Sports.

Semenyo’s expected arrival would take City’s spending in the last 12 months to £425.9m on 14 players and be their first signing of the January window.

Antoine Semenyo: Man City ‘complete transfer’

Ghana international joined Bournemouth from Bristol City for £9m plus £1.5m in add-ons in January 2023 and has since become one of the Premier League’s best attacking players, contributing 10 league goals and three assists this season for the Cherries.

The 26-year-old reportedly had interested from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham but has opted to join the Cityzens.

Semenyo celebrated his birthday in style on Wednesday by signing off with a 95th-minute winner to beat Tottenham 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium, with manager Andoni Iraola admitting it would be his star player’s final match for the club.

The second-tier Robins are set to bank 20% of any profit made on Semenyo, meaning they could stand to make around £11m.

Semenyo’s departure means Bournemouth have earned £266.5m in player sales in the last six months.

Centre-back Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid for £50m, full-back Milos Kerkez moved to Liverpool for £40m, defender Illia Zabarnyi switched to Paris Saint-Germain for £57m and forward Dango Ouattara became Brentford’s club-record £42m signing.
